| Preservation Goals
The goals of the Evergreen Manor House Preservation Committee
are the following:
To preserve this major asset of Evergreen Country Club for future
use as an income producer, such as a bed and breakfast, conference
center, etc.
To maintain the character of the neighborhood and maintain home
values; The Manor House is a landmark for the community.
To preserve the structure for its historic significance. The Evergreen
Manor House is listed by Prince William County as a Designated Cultural
Resource.
How we are accomplishing these goals:
Conducted a survey of the exterior; generate repair estimates,
etc.
Investigating raising money, accepting contributions, etc through
fund raising events, mailings, website, etc. We are investigating
working through the Haymarket Historical Foundation to establish
a 501 (c)(3) preservation fund.
Investigate the availability of preservation resources at the
local, state, and national level. Get the historical groups and
preservation societies on-board, enlist local politicians, Civil
War groups, etc. One of the more important things that we can do
is to get the property listed on the National Register of Historic
Places
Research Evergreen's history to bolster its significance and educate
the members/public on the historical significance of the structure.
We will accomplish this through this website, newspaper articles,
museum exhibits, etc.
